Art & culture

Cultural life pulsates through Lingen. Kunsthalle, Kunstschule and Kunstsammlung, the Theaterpädagogische Zentrum der Emsländischen Landschaft e.V. with its International Festival of Dolls and its internationally renowned World Children's Theatre Festival: All this characterises Lingen's reputation as the cultural capital of the Emsland.

For outstanding achievements in the cultural, artistic and scientific fields, the town of Lingen awards a cultural prize every three years.

Many other cultural institutions, including the Burgtheater of the Institute for Theatre Pedagogy at the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück, Campus Lingen, the Cultural Forum Sankt Michael in Reuschberge, the Jewish School in the heart of the town as well as the Emsland School of Music and the Cine-World and Centralkino film theatres, are some outstanding examples of how important this topic is.
